A little more exciting than last time...

Well as promised I would give more exciting news this time... Many of you noticed that our blog is called "Crosland Bunch". I named it that to plan ahead of coarse and its now official, we will be a "bunch" in January 2013, somewhere around the 29th. Yes we are expecting our first little bundle of joy! I am 21 weeks right now. This is one of the reasons I won't be posting my blog posts on facebook for a while... too many people on facebook who have no personal ties to us. For those who may wonder, I was sick until about 15 weeks but I have felt fantastic since. I am finally getting a belly for the first time in my entire life. I would post a recent picture but we don't have one so you will just have to wait. I just look awkward enough for people to wonder if I am pregnant. If someone however does ask, I will have some fun with it at first. I will put on a straight face and say "actually I have a liver disease that causes swelling...is it really that noticeable?". I will let you all no how it goes. You can judge me if you want but I have never had a belly before so I am going to enjoy it while I can. For those of you who have kids (or even those who just have good ideas), which baby products would you suggest I need? I have an idea of what I think I will need but some advice would be helpful...please leave your suggestions below. Until next time...

  4. ok i have a lot of things to say in this comment. first, yayaaaaayay! so happy for you both. second, i am due with another kiddo just a month after you! being a mommy is the.best.gift.ever. next, soooo glad you're feeling good now! also, please get a photo of you and your belly up stat! and lastly, as far asbaby products, etc this is what i recommend... don't go all crazy on all the fancy-schmancy baby things out there. just get your basic car seat, stroller, crib, etc. you can get so overwhelmed with just 'stuff' and it's a pain to find room for it in your home while you're using it, then storage for it when it's not in use. one thing i did splurge on was a bumbo and it has been super useful and fun. you are at the time when you can find out what you're having, so if you decide you're doing that, you must also post that stat! xoxox

  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

    baby stuff?
    - have a diaper party, I haven't had to buy and diapers yet and won't have to til shes at least a year
    - get a bassinet or this http://www.walmart.com/ip/3205748?adid=22222222227001132707&wmlspartner=wlpa&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=&wl3=13223753710&wl4=&wl5=pla&veh=sem

    -lots of lotion, baby magic smells the best

    -lots of wipes, like tons you can never have too many, be careful of the scented wipes

    -subscribe to http://www.babycenter.com/ gives you so many awesome tips and tricks. it even told me numbers of wipes and diapers, etc. you will need for the first 6 months, helped a LOT!

    -everyone says freeze meals, but i can tell you my husband and i were too tired to cook anything so take out and delivery were lifesavers for a couple weeks till we go the hang of parenting then i could use my frozen meals.

    -enjoy being with your hubby, baby adds so much joy but getting out with just my hubby has been surprisingly nice. (we've only done it once though, haha)

    Get lots of changing pads and binkies you lose them all the time. they also have wipes you can buy to clean off binkies when they drop on the floor especially places where you don't haev water, they are so handy.

    - go to carters and shop clearance you pay 5 bucks for an out fit.

    -get a million onsies they will hang out in them all the time

    -sign up for all the free babay stuff you can, i made a specific email just for that and i get tons of coupons that have saved tons of money especially when i lost my milk and had to buy formula.

    Woah that was a lot, last thing

    -DO WHATEVER YOU FEEL IS BEST FOR YOU!!! Don't let anyone else's opinions sway what you think is right or what feels best for you, especially when it comes to a birth plan.

    GOOOD LUCK! love every minute, you will enjoy it so much, and don't be afraid to ask for help from people or to call your doctor when you have any questions.

    i've only been at this 3 months, so take all this for what it worth, haha

  6. Wahoo! So excited for you guys! Remember when you told Alex (Angela's friend) that you were stabbed in the stomach and he completely believed you? lol That's what your whole "liver disease" reminds me of ;}
    As for baby stuff:
    *get the thick cloth diapers for burp cloths. They cover much more of your shoulder/chest and they actually soak up the spit up unlike thin ones. If you want to make them cute, you can sew a piece of material right down the center.
    *wait until after baby showers to buy stuff specifically for baby, instead focus on the stuff you will need personally that people most likely won't give you at baby showers-i.e. nursing bras and nursing pads.
    *Get all natural nipple cream like Mother's Love. The Lasinoh cream from like Target/Walmart is thick crappy stuff that doesn't rub on all that nicely. The natural stuff is pricey (I got my Very small container for $10) but it lasts forever and your poor nipples take a beating.
    *Stock up on BIG, THICK, LONG pads-lots of bleeding after all is said and done.
    *Take all the freebies you can! The hospital should provide diapers and wipes for baby while your there and pads for you, and they will stock you up for going home if you ask-get your money's worth. On that same note, your going to want a squirt bottle to clean up downtown-I just kept the one they gave me at the hospital as well.
    I've droned on long enough but as a final note, I agree with the comment above, soak up hubby time as much as possible-its going to evaporate very quickly once baby comes...
    Oh, and I wanna come to a baby shower ;}
